Eastward
Bound
That's right, I am packing up and headed to the land
they call Europe. Why, you might ask? Because I am young,
have no mortgage, and want to ride my bike in relatively
nice weather. I love Seattle and the Northwest and I always
find my compass pointing me back there, but this winter
has sucked. It has not just been damp and cold but it’s
been snowing and fridge or warm and flooding there is
no happy biking time. It’s either teetering across a field
of snow hoping that your tires don’t break the crisp top
layer and send you down to the slush below. Or the riding
has been more in the fashion of water skiing, and a few
times I’ve nearly needed a boat to pull me to dry land.
Hence my destination: Antibes, France. Right on the Mediterranean,
Antibes plays host to a tropical climate. The local riding
I’ve been told includes some cross country with epic vistas,
short downhills with jumps and tight corners and some
of the best BMX tracks on the planet. Yes, for about 3
months this place will be my home and ground zero for
my training regiment for the coming race season.

It is my misfortune to also announce that I no longer
have a laptop, therefore I will be unable to post updates
from my adventures abroad. However, I will be sending
updates to my team which will be posted on www.monavie-cannondale.com
so check that out for the latest and greatest.
With that I will peace out, and I hope all you suckers
stuck in winter have a great one!
